Our Story

As sisters living on different continents, Gina and I often talked about starting a business. We shared the same ideas and thoughts about the lovely things we would have in our own homes and so after a little deliberation (mainly about the name) - Oyster Moon became a reality. Born from a desire for Gina and I to create more art, wanting to share our designs in lovely prints for people to enjoy in their homes, alongside useful things like greetings cards, notebooks, tea towels and mugs. Creating something unique -we often feed off each other’s creativity and every now and again we have a ‘light bulb’ moment with a design, which still sends a tingle down your spine! Painting some of our favourite sea creatures and places in a more contemporary way – well received so far, we hope you’ll think they are pretty cool too. We work with UK companies, happy to collaborate with designers, our products are based on our original art. We paint with watercolour, acrylics and occasionally oils and pencils to get the look we want. Living in the varied counties of Surrey and Cornwall, visiting Devon and Wales often for ideas, it’s easy to see how we are inspired to capture the beauty of our coastline and recollect with memories made further afield when Gina was USA based. Historically, Gina was an illustrator, creating her own children's books and illustrating for other authors. I had a successful career in sales and had always wanted to paint and create more... We are always open to ideas - and looking for new opportunities. The World is Your Oyster - after all!
